“Ann” Anna Thoms (née Popowich) March 19, 1924 – November 18, 2023
Ann, mom, baba lived a full life. She always welcomed family and friends especially at the holidays. Christmases were special and she would prepare for weeks in advance so her family could all enjoy the meals and traditions together. Every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have special memories that will be cherished forever. Ann will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by: son, Lorne (Veronica) and family: Brent; Cory (Stephanie),their children, Payton and Ashley; and Leanne (Keith) Hunter, their children: Shea, and Ty; son Mel (Connie) and family: Jason (Zaneta); and Trent; daughter MaryAnn (Jim) Poth and their family: Nolan (Melinda), their children: Donovan, and Skyer; Byron (Rebecca), their child, Issabella; and Jered; daughter-in-law Julia (Ronald†) and family: Sheldon, his children: Aidan, Hanah and Kylar; and Merlin (Carla), their child, Cody; daughter-in-law Lucy (Bernard†) and family: Craig (Janelle), their children: Rayelle, Dakota, and Brady; and Tracy; sisters: Darlene Bunko, Elsie Lozinsky, and Olga Thoms; and brothers, Peter and Fred Popowich. She was predeceased by: husband Micheal Thoms; son Ronald Thoms; son Bernard Thoms; parents William and Mary (née Stadnyk) Popowich; brother Mike (Nettie) Popowich; sister Kaye (Ed) Bayda; sister Eleanor (Bill) Brookes; sisters-in-law, Kaye Popowich and Elizabeth Popowich; brothers-in-law: Mike Bunko, Charles Lozinsky, and Ernest Thoms; and other in-laws of the Thoms family. The Prayer Service was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., with Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk OSB presiding. The Funeral Service was held at All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Fr. Andrei Kachur. Others taking part were: Jered Poth, cross bearer; Eileen Bunko, scripture reader; and Leanne Hunter, eulogist. Active pallbearers were Brent Thoms, Cory Thoms, Jason Thoms, Sheldon Thoms, Merlin Thoms, and Byron Poth. Honorary pallbearers were Leanne Hunter, Tracy Thoms, Nolan Poth, Craig Thoms, and Trent Thoms. Interment followed at All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt, SK. |
