Acknowledgement

Welcome to the Thoms/Burtney family tree. With a lot of help from my parents, Phyllis and Tony Thoms and family members, we first put together a family tree some 30+ years ago in print format just to keep track of our ever increasing family. Since then, there have been a lot of changes as you can imagine. I have decided that instead of a hard copy print, having it published on the Internet would make it more readily available to many more family members and easily updated whenever necessary. The “Thoms and Burtney Family Tree” not only includes families that are directly related, but indirectly by marriage as well. I must also acknowledge the efforts of Anne Lummerding in publishing the “Thoms (Toms) Family History 1898-2002” book where some of the information has been obtained from.  No doubt you may find errors along the way and if you do, please drop me an email and I would be happy to correct them.

Enjoy browsing through this web site. Remember, it will always be an ongoing “work project” and as such, it will be constantly updated as new data becomes available. If you do not have Internet access, you can also ask for a CD that will display the same way as it is on this web site, but of course, it will not be updated as time goes on.

Please note that if you do not find your name in the ‘Name Index’, it doesn’t mean that you are not included somewhere else here. Just find and click on your closest relative, your grandparent, uncle or aunt etc. and work your way back or forward. You may find what you are looking for. If not, email me supplying pertinent details and I will be happy to add you in to our family tree!
